A new knitting shop in Bernardsville fufills a dream for the owner -- and for knitters looking for great yarns and modern patterns

Susan Haynes is determined to change the public's misconceptions about knitting. No longer are knitters just grandmothers knitting booties for anticipated grandchildren. She said today's knitters are women of all ages and backgrounds who share a common interest in pursuing the craft for both personal enjoyment, relaxation and creating wearable, modern knitting projects of which they can be proud.
In April, Haynes capitalized on her 25-year love of knitting and her passion for being an entrepreneur and opened the store of her dreams, The Knitting Lab, in the heart of Bernardsville.
